    60 below

                                                  LEROY & WANDA

            AT 60 BELOW

We are sitting here, wrapped in all the clothes that We own

Listening to the cold winds blow

You will shiver and shake in whatever you wear

When the temperature is 60 BELOW

What in the world are we doing up here?

That’s something we would both like to know

Surely we must both be losing our minds

    Because out side ... it’s 60 BELOW

Down south where the folks are, it’s very warm

So..why are we so reluctant to go?

We could live a lot cheaper down there for sure

And it would never get to 60 BELOW

Ice fog coming in, the weather man warns

The thought makes our spirits sink low

We can’t see a thing, it’s like a living tomb

And out side it’s 60 BELOW

The sun rises here at 11 a.m.

We are lucky if we see a glow

The fog is so thick the sun can’t shine through

It’s that way at 60 BELOW

It’s only six months until summer comes

and that’s a happy time we know

We will enjoy and be happy, summer is short

And again it will be 60 BELOW

We will both be here (if alive) you can bet

And we will be wading the ice and the snow

We love it I guess, though we will both confess

    Dang it’s cold when it’s 60 BELOW

    Wanda

Great poem, to live in Alaska must be quite a challenge and this poem makes you feel the cold and ask yourself why would you do that to yourself.

    thanks hunting cherokee

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

    Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
