A Beginning

Poem Commentary

This poem was written after I thought I had lost my family.

A Beginning

MY HEART ACHES, THE SAME AS ADAMS ONCE DID.
FOR MY RIB IS GONE FROM ALL SIGHT.
I OPENED MY EYES TO SEE MY SEED SCATTERED IN THE WIND.
THE WINDS CAME FROM THE WICKNESS OF MY SOUL.
THE HEAT THAT BURNED MY SEED UPON THE GROUND
CAME FROM THE PURE FUEL OF HELL ITSELF.

A TEAR FELL FROM MY EYE, COOLING THE SEVERELY SENGED SEED.
THE LORD PLACED MY SEED UPON THE TIP OF HIS FINGER;
AS I PLACED MY KNEES UPON HIS ALTER.
AND UPON HEARING MY SINCERE REGRETS IN MY PRAYERS,
HIS TEAR FEEL UPON MY SEED, GRANTING IT REBIRTH.

FORGIVENESS WAS GIVEN TO THE UNWORTHY.
THE LORD EMBRACED MY SOUL, AND PLACED IT BACK ON THIS EARTH AGAIN,

HIS TRUE CREATION.

beautiful write showing your strong beliefs a great message of hope to all. Thank you for all the recent comments on my work. -Tonya

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
