    a breakfast poem

    A Little Thought

Like flipping ones eggs in the pan, delicately,  to retain the yolk
That gentle fracture of the yolk, it was, before she mis-spoke
A seemingly minor impulse, as I stroked, a waggling chin
Allowing purchase to take hold, thoughts, choking, a sudden win
Neck invoked awkwardly, an awkward silence allowed
Neither knowing what to say, what other acts would follow
I look out, across the sea of possibilities, a thought takes hold
Upon some whim, my life is shaped, regale the hope, I`m told
Are all acts, both big and small, delicate and rough
Truly our own, or made from other, whimsical stuff
Perhaps we, all of us, are but one, somebody`s daydream
No more real than the puff of thought, unworthy scream
As insignificant as nervous nerves, that lumber
From a grudgey God deep in slumber

A well written poem with good meter. Thanks for sharing!
