  • To achieve success in anything you need to start with a dream. Know your dream. Know why you are doing what you are doing. Create the fire that's needed to connect you with your dream. Create the passion you need in your pursuit of success. Create a desire to reach your achievements. Success can be yours if you have the courage to try..May your wishes all come true and they can it's all up to you

Poem Commentary

Here’s a quote by John Wooden; “If the world was perfect, it wouldn't be"

I took a challenge with nine other writers to write something of interest about the world as we know it. We had twenty minutes to complete the assignment and it had to be 500 words or more. I finished mine in 17 1/2 minutes and this is what I came up with.

A Perfect World

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live in a perfect world? A world where there was no sickness or tribulations. A world with perpetual peace, no trials to face, no torment and anguish, a world devoid of distress, a world where dishonor and disgrace were unheard of and people were humble and there was no humiliation? What if all your agonies were removed making the trip along life’s highways a flawless journey? Would you value a life of perfection or do the situations of life give us the tests and the trials that give life meaning? Ask yourself these questions and see if you have any answers that make sense? If you have the right answers then you are a whole lot smarter than I am.
Our progress would die if assertiveness was taken away and decisions were made for us. In a perfect world this would be the alternative, life would become boring and no longer have any meaning.
In a perfect world every home would have a dog and every dog would have a home. In a perfect world things would always go the way you desire, no illusions, no surprises, don’t fantasize, fantasy is an elusive dream, perfection is only found in heaven and that’s the way it was meant to be...
The Garden of Eden is probably the closest imaginable existence to a perfect world. A myth that has lasted a millennia has to have a bit of truth. However I don’t see perfection in Eden, I see a world with no evil. The only place a perfect world exists is in our imaginations. To live in a perfect world we must have complete free will and be able to make ourselves into anything that we want to be, whether it be a candle stick maker or a writer of dreams. It’s too bad that we don't have complete control over our behavior. If we did, we could swim underwater like fish or spread our wings and fly like an eagle.
The desire for a perfect world is to live in a world without evil it’s an inherent human characteristic. It’s not a bad idea as long as we understand its limitations. If we didn't have this desire to make things perfect, then things would never get perfect.
Stretching the imagination you can find perfection over the horizon but its only fantasy it’s not reality.
My WEbook friend Eileen says; “If we lived in a perfect world, then how can we take the lessons we've learned through mistakes with us to the next life? That's what makes us grow, as humans, less than perfect, mistake making, rude, hurtful, deceitful, humans.” She’s right except that if we lived in a perfect world we wouldn’t make mistakes. She goes on to say; “Multi facets make us all unique, with no similarities. Hence, I think, us being attracted to others. Maybe we are attracted to the people who possess the qualities we lack, in effect, two people becoming one? Again she is right, except if we lived in a perfect world there would be no similarities, we’d all be the same body, mind and soul.
Let’s assume that in a perfect world there was no death, that life is foreverness. Where would this leave us? It would eliminate the fear of death and paralyze one's ability to enjoy life and erode one's confidence that there is meaning to life.

Your impromptu work here is an impressive, thought provoking, discussion starter for sure! However...I have to say the more impressive work on this page I see (to me) is the prayer you said for a baby boy! (From your mouth to God's);) ears!

Sir, again through reading your poems you made me think, thank you. If we as humans learned to be truly free through our free will as you say then. I also like your wonderment of what a perfect world could become, which makes me wonder, maybe this is the one perfect world that exists.....can you rate my poem i would want to get your opinion on it

Kitty I’d like to pray for your son God works miracles if you have faith. I know he has worked many miracles for me. *****Dear Lord, look upon Kittylilly’s baby with eyes of mercy, may Your healing hand rest upon her and her son, may Your life giving powers flow into every cell of the little body and into the depths of Kittylilly’s soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring her baby to wholeness and strength for Your Divine Service. I recognize in this moment that Yours is the power to heal and make whole. You who have the power to work miracles, You who rule time and space, please take this baby in Your arms and hold him. Dear Lord, please lift him up and heal him. Touch gently this sweet little life which You have created, now and forever. Thank you Lord Jesus, Amen

i challenge your idea of a perfect world. i make this statement; perfection is unknowable to fallible beings and relative. for without the friction in life, we have nothing to adapt to. and in your conception of perfect; due to relativity, we would have new standards and the new perfect world would soon turn up imperfections. but yes, we cannot know perfection without knowing imperfection, and vice versa. i say life is pointless without trials and friction, and further, impossible. without friction there is nothing to adapt to, and therefore organisms would be simple and without complexity; life would demand no regulation. im sure you have problems with what i have presented. so lets hear a rebuttle. :)

There is no such thing as a perfect world and think I paint the picture with brushes of true and realistic colors. Your concept in reality is no different than mine, you’ve challenged me to see it your way and that is exactly the way I see it. Your choices of words are different but our minds are on the same link in other words they are in sync. I don’t see where a rebuttal is necessary because there is nothing to rebut. Read what I’ve written in context you’ll see the similarity.

ya i see what you mean. i saw a lot of similarities to your poem and what i said. i just figured you wouldnt like my ideas of adaptation/evolution as you seem to be a creationist. i have a young earth/creationist older sister who i debate with frequently. i find we see much the same but our mechanisms that make these things happen are different or conflicting. i will expand what i said: without friction, we would likely not make it past the microscopic level in complexity because life would be constant and therfore would never call for such complex regulation. do you agree with this as well?

Of course I use a little dry humor like a in a perfect world every home would have a dog and every dog would have a home but that's just my way.

This goes along with what I've always told my daughters... you don't learn the most important lessons in life thru ice cream... you learn the hard lessons thru hardship and there is no other way... that is what this life is about i think... learning lessons... ~☮

Our sons and daughters will strive for perfection in an unperfect world created by the master for reasons of divinity. for God knows all things.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
