ACCEPT SANITY

Poem Commentary

Unconditional love.....

Acceptance is killing me because I cant move on.
When it comes to family, they have falses, but since it is family we are accepting of many things.  Family issues are the most sensitive issues that can cause the most pain and sometimes have the most hurtful outcomes.
Family has literally worn me down and I am TIRED!

ACCEPT SANITY

Sanity is life
Acceptance is death

I became content
with what's not for me
I am living a life
without sanity
I lost myself
and serenity
believing another
could take care of me
I pray to the being
for thee I see
but the devil keeps on
chasing me
My understanding
brings clarity
that sanity is life
what will be
will be
and acceptance is death
I will never be free
if I continue to hold
onto misery
Change is the only
possibility
I can't continue to breathe
in negativity
I want to know love
unconditionally
See in the world
positively
because acceptance
is killing inside of me
I want again my sanity!

The idea that acceptance of the status quo, mundane or the outright bad for us, is deadly never came across to me like this. On the other hand the struggle for positive change and life is, in fact, sane.

Yes sir, it is but when we choose the latter... WE die and you can't recover from that... Life is a conscience choice and if everyone chose life there would be no such thing as suicide... We as people get depressed, lonely, sad, etc and we give up, sometimes to easily... Thanks for your comment again... Keep reading!!

This speaks to me on so many levels. I can't believe how similar it is to a poem I wrote many years ago. I have it posted here. This really touches on relationships that drag on you, but you fight on with the will to live and to overcome those tough times.

What's the name of your poem? I almost gave up and writing is God's way of getting me through... As you see I am far behind in my comments and emails... It has been a minute since I've been on but I will get to your page but definitely send me the name... Thanks for your comment...

Awesome flow. The commentary helped guide me through the range of emotion... what you can and can't accept. It's odd how inaccurate expressions of love can change the way we see the world. The beauty is that we can free ourselves from it. Be free!

Thank you for your comment. I want my words to flow straight to the injured heart but only to revive love and to know that the hurt is only for the moment.

I read this one twice....once for the meaning and the next for the flow....both were on the one.... I enjoyed this one and can relate to that feeling of knowing there is something more that life has to offer...and searching for it....death is not the option...and accepting the insanity is death....

Thanks for your comment. I don't know if you noticed the error. I made the correction. Line 7/8 should of read, believing another could take care of me. I am insane because of the things that I accepted for years from others/society and now its mentally killing me. I can't function. I have no stablity. I want to feel sane again. I want to live without all the drama that people want to fill my heart/mind with. I want to be free to be me.

True.. Insanity is the reality. It is impossible to be sane as you say "in this melting pot of confusion". It took years for me to realize that sanity "is not a gift from God" but God himself. Your faith will keep you sane you lose that you lose the meaning of LIFE... Keep reading PLEASE!! I love the comments. I take critism very well and strive on perfection. Tell me how to make it better or that it's good enough doesnt matter to me. tell me that you feeling me or understand what i am trying to convey and I am good.

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
