    I've grown weary of these waves
    treading water no longer keeps me afloat
    let go , Im sinking low my lungs begin to cave
    and Im wishing I hadnt jumped out of the boat

    Above I see a Tempest roaring the surface
    whirling me into a state of emergency
    arms move up and down , doing my best
    to reach the top , I cant stop , I have to breathe.

    My love , he is waiting for me on the shore
    I need him , he needs me we are of one heart
    the memory of us is one of long lost lore
    I must pace myself and swim I start.

    I keep a picture of his smile in mind
    it's the happiness that fuels my soul
    with each mile I go his face so kind
    helping me realize I dont have far to go.

    This was beautifully written and lends a sense of hope and peace in a world surrounded by panic and tragic. Well done :) 10 from me.

    You've already "jumped out of the boat", so like Satchel Page said, "Don't never look back. Somethin' might be gainin' on you!". Don't forget, it's your responsibility to stay afloat. It was your decision to dive in & apparently it was a good decision. Good luck!

    Excellent write.....I can derive several things from this write, metaphorically, that is. An example is the boat could be a parents home and treading water, trying to stay afloat in the sea of life before becoming overwhelmed. Or it could be a boat in the sea and you jumped out and you are drowning. At any rate 10 from me.

    learn to swim learn to swim... learn it now, life saver from beginner to expert floats like wind sends breezes through the air. Keep breathing and forget the boat, you can swim, but can the boat sink?? learn to swim, and the bopats talent has nothing on your deep water diving, and resurfacing with ease, this was kinda a funny poem. I liked it. but in case you can't swoim, learn, it's the best tool you have, so get to land, and to submerge, a person who can't swim, jumps in to save a love and drowns first kick those legs and stay above the flood of a deep blue sea
