Air, water and stone

An archer
searches
for
an
arc of ethos
in his chamois
quivers.

There,
swept
by swollen rivers,
hes' kept
fresh
eros
feathered
rainbows,
crystal lodestone
tipped.

He finds
moist
egos
nursed
on the sharp pathos
amidst
the arrows
where,
in their blades,
they've slept.

The matter
of self alone.

love how this trips over the tongue like a babbling brook, but in a "seashells by the seashore" kind of way that makes one articulate each (even single-word) line ... quivers and tips worthy of eros and pathos and ethos ... tho i do keep going back to that first gorgeous line, "An archer / searches / for / an arc of ethos" ... i could repeat that to myself for the next 24 hours ... beautiful metaphor ... thx for the post!

The comparison of mythical gods to describe the river flowing over the rocks is nicely done. I enjoyed.

Thank you for your most kind words and visit Gentle!

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
