    Abyss

She's at a loss for words
A tear drops from her eye
    She senses the panic
    She trembles inside

    Fear rises in her
    She feels torn apart
    Like a thermometer
    Reaching the very top
    In an instant she loses
    All sense of mind

    Come help she screams
    All alone with her fright
    She keeps screaming shouting
    But no one replies

    Her anxiety heightens
With each beat of her heart
    She feels an explosion
    Going on inside

    Shredded to pieces blown apart
    Oh here it comes again
    The darkness the fright

    It spirals out of control
    it is on the attack
Lord she is losing this battle
    And so very fast

The children are waiting for mom
To awake for it is she
Who get them on their merry way

I can not explain what it is
    That she is fighting
    It is dark and lonely
    And ever so frightening

A very well written work you've created. Perfect title to go along with the content. Nightmares are certainly devastating, i know i've had more than my share also. Not to mention lost sleep, waking in the night. Peaceful dreams. Great write.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.

Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) Greek philosopher.
