Angel With Butterfly Wings

She came to me an Angel with Butterfly Wings

A Majestic Love
My Lustrous Beauty
My Gifted Poet
My Cerebral Muse
My Celestial Soul

The clown no longer hiding in painted smiles

Ghosts of the former drift by
Caught up in the winds of your breath
You dispatch electricity, it dances across my spine
Abruptly loneliness meets a violent death

Fate, the joker, seems to play tricks
Whenever you try to deny it
Embrace the stare of Love transfixed
It may never return once you defy it

Suitors lined up promises to full-fill all your wishes
They arrive bearing silver and gold
They line up awaiting your lavender kisses
Dumb confidence, they blunder so bold

But you choose to share your treasures with me
The richest I was, for I have thee

You share  with me your kaleidoscope soul
The jewels caught, glimmering in your eyes
And your silky cashmere skin, so soft
Your heart of diamond clarity, with a capacity of love aloft
The minuscule rubies flowing through a highway of veins
Your laugh capable of releasing the darkest of souls

You choose to share your treasures with me

The essence of your soul pursues me when you're not there
I see your face, a constellation in the stars
Your shadow reflects in the moonlight through the trees
Your whispers find my ears through the rain
I feel your touch warm me from the inside out
The rhythm of your heart keeps time with mine

You come to me when I need you most
You come to me an Angel with Butterfly Wings

Joy, Delight, Pleasure, Grace,
My Heart, My Love
My Maranda

Together we need nothing but love, ahead of us only time
Time but a stone, which sinks to the bottom
Splashing up rippling seas
In waves we sail, one coast to another
Crashing the shores and careening back again
Echoing in waves throughout infinity
Our names, together, will be writ in water

You wrote to me,
'Love me, do'
I want you to know,
I love you too

Suspence, Such a lovely devotion with great imagery, including metaphors of nature. I felt I was in a chariot watching this lovestory unfold. ty ginga

Thanks again Ginga :) I love metaphors of nature, sometimes I dont even realize just how much I use them, but it just seems so natural for me, pun not intended haha, Hmmm or was it? I am glad you enjoyed this write, and I love the chariot visual you painted for me :) Peace and Love, Spence

This is great writing at its best! I like the line loneliness meets a violent death. Reading down says this is a new love. A glorious tribute to Miranda. Not sure if fiction or non, but if it is for real I am sure she will feel oh so lucky if your show her this poem. I loved it!!!!!!!!! A perfect ten.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
