    Poem Commentary

You have to be born again to be saved. When you go under the water. You die to your old ways. When you come up. You come up to new life. You start a new way of living.

    Baptism- A New You

It wasn't my fault. I had no choice when I was born.
To be able to say I want to live like that.
I wanted to make up my own mind.
I was bombarded with the traditions, philosophies, and principles of man.
Bound by family religions, pagan festivals, and celebrations of sin.
I took up foolish notions, false humility, worshipping Santas, rabbits, and top hats.
Disqualifying myself for a life of righteousness and eternity.
    Until God saw to that.
He loved me first, accepted me as I am, and forgave my sins when I accepted his son.
Accepting Christ burys  the original laws of this world.
He said choose to be like him, follow his teachings, drink of his living water.
If you do this, you will never thirst but stay full.
Stop judging your sisters because of what they eat and wear.
Stop judging your brothers because of their being uncirumcized, being a Gentile, or Jew.
    Christ said it all.
He said take my yoke it's easy to do.
Get Baptised, get a new birth and see.
Become the image of God now, start a new walk in Christ.
Allow the  Holy Spirit to set your soul free.
    Amen.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
