    Poem Commentary

    This is the introduction to my second book .. "Beyond The Door" .... Currently a work in progress. This book will contain all of my Poems to date. The First book " Open Windows ~ A different point of view" contains all of my song lyrics and has an underlying story that transitions the reader via a narrative between the different genre's.

    Beyond The Door ...

    In the inner depths of my minds' own mists ...
    Far beyond the realm of reality.
    Lies a place where I only know exists,
    Thru the passageway ~ 
    Of insanity.

    It leads me to a twisted world of bliss ...
    As I venture across it's crooked floors.
    I hear the incessant pounding of fists,
    Coming from somewhere far ~
    Beyond the door.

    I hear cries of anguish and tears of joy ...
    Excitement and horrors that multiply.
    Where dreams and nightmares completely employ,
    Every sight I see ~
    Within my minds' eye.

    Thru darkness and light and hues crimson red ...
    I embark to discover and explore.
    Your invited to join me in my head,
    Come enter if you dare ~
    Beyond the door.

    Very good, but leaves me wanting more. I wasn't too crazy about using "Mind's eye" in the poem. It is not really a cliché, but the expression is not your original idea. I'll still give it a 10. Good Write!

    Thanks Blueberry! :) but, no ... This poem was inspired by the poems I am including in my book. I needed something that would capture the story that lies behind the door. I actually searched long and hard for the perfect picture to go with it. :) Thanks again! :) Ken
