Poem Commentary

Warning - disclaimer to my dark side... Never read Poe before bed HAHAHAHA! (spoken in my best and deepest Vincent Price voice)

Black

Black

Ravens wings so black they’re blue

Please fly away, fly away far

Your shadow darkens my heart with a saddened hue

Mysterious creature creepily sitting there

Do you mask the sun with dark clouds

And thicken the air with abysmal despair

You have wilted the flowers to form my desolate road

Causing my journey’s quest to prematurely reach its end

My burdens are such that I can no longer bare the load

Where have the leaves fallen from the lifeless tree

Oh sullen black bird that haunts from tangled branches

Why are you grotesquely glaring back at me

With stilled heart there’s something whispering in my head

My eyes slowly draw shut darkening as raven’s flesh

Tightly I hold onto my soul as my spirit departs,

for now I know “I’ll wake up dead”

That is one high compliment that I am most grateful for... May artist of all media always inspire the writer as the writer encourages the reader - who form new images in their minds to create a new and better world!

This is one poem that wrote itself quickly in the middle of the night and still it seems to be unfinished... thank you for your comments.

An arrangement made of mystical phrases. A perfect imagery for a dar scene. You maintain the level of interest throughout. This was brilliant Jeff!

Poe sits right beside Shakespear on my shelf. (discriptive line) "thicken the air with abysmal dispair". Nice job

As my beautiful love would say - she would loudly proclaim "Poe Rocks" thank you for reading!

Poetry is what is lost in translation.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
