Born to You and Me

Poem Commentary

This is inspired by my granddaughter, baby GG.

Born to You and Me

Foretold by Jewish prophesy

A baby born to you and me

Not born into a royal clan

No scepter in his little hand

Not regal nor of royal birth

A child comes to save all the earth

Lays where oxen and donkeys bray

In wooden bed of straw and hay

Wrapped in ragged cloth and threads

Shepherds did what an angel said

Wise men also were revealed a sign

A king to follow.  A light divine

An eastern star shown to them

The City of David, Bethlehem

They found the child Mary embraced

Through heavenly design sins erased

None thought from this poor beginning

To us would be born a saving king

Not upon jeweled throne he reign

His love replaces our sin and pain
