    BUT WHAT ABOUT YOUR BROTHER?

You made it out of the crack house, and returned to corporate America.
Hearing a whispering voice relaying thoughts of conviction:
    “But What About Your Brother?”

Just when you realized that there is a GOD,
Adjusted your life accordingly, and began producing works
Worthy of the one that created your being.
Feeling a shadow in the corner, slowly approaching,
Conveying troubled thoughts of years past,
    Penetrating your inner barriers,
And brought it to your remembrance:
    “But What About Your Brother?”

Daily acts of Christianity you perform on this stage of earth.
Playing your part to the extreme,
All while collecting awards of little significance.
The great actor you’ve become, but a silent voice in the crowd
Whispered words most forgotten to your soul:
    “But What About Your Brother?”

Wow! This poem makes me think about never forgetting where you come from and remember to always help someone else. This is truly a great message. It's like climbing a mountain ....you should always extend a hand to someone who is lower than you are. Great piece! Never move forward without bringing someone else along!!!! Salvation....Help someone else to recieve it......Mediate on the Title itself....Awesome.

I love this, Orsonav! The subtle message underneath seems to be that basically we should make our pain and our misery our ministry, and use what we've gone through to reach someone else. We shouldn't forget where we used to be and we should make it a point to tell somebody. God delivers and saves us so we can be a light and a testimony of His goodness to someone else. So, so true!! Awesome poem.

Thank you for reading for the subtext. But what about your brother is a call for the redeemed to go forth and share God's goodness with his fellow brothers. This extends to the brothers that are not part of the body of christ. A person should remember that they are only saved by grace, and that grace should lead you to help someone else find God and his gifts.

this poem desreves a better rating than what it is getting. great write my friend

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
