    Poem Commentary

    I work with teen girls and often enjoy what comes out of their mouths.

    Butter Face

     Said the beautiful girl with the large bright eyes
    "I need to put on my makeup."
    The practical one replied "What for you look just fine?"
    "I have a butter face." Bright eyes answered as she rubbed her cheek.
    "You know....
    When everything looks good but her face...."

    I really like this.. And I think there is a hidden meaning behind it. Perhaps it is that girls should not mask themselves... Personally, this has touched me. Wonderful write. Thank you for sharing.

    awwwww ... this is a great capture of the insecurities we all "face" ... while it's funny, it's also a little disturbing ... the insights we offer on the "truths" we believe about ourselves through self-deprecating comments ... and i hope someone told this girl ... there is no such thing! much luv :) -dh
