Poem Commentary

This is my first poem where I looked at a picture to make a poem. Notice each line in the poem has six syllables in hopes to make it an even flow.

By the Wind

Not troubled by sadness
Not swayed by angry crowds
White mountain tips below
Above the sullen clouds

Crowned king of his voyage
Unfolded wings can fly
Feeling as a monarch
He reigns over blue sky

As an eagle soaring
Worlds to unveil in flight
On wings given by God
Free to climb to new heights

Spirit drifting higher
Ocean breeze flows through him
Gliding above heaven
His heart swept by the wind

Closed eyes for a moment
Soul and mind are at peace
A dream flows forever
Untamed thoughts never cease

3rd stanza, 2nd line - 7 syllables...you could change it to -worlds discovered in flight- and keep the six syllable count. I don't normally do that - but the poem is beautiful, very close to perfect :) 10

Thanks, I didn't notice that. That is exactly what I am looking for in this site. I will change it here and on my back up copy. Muchas gracias senor. :)

Beautiful poem and well written loved the content . Will be back to read again Marie

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
