    Cape Elizabeth

The air damp and icy cold went right through to the bone
Snow lay deep just inshore from where waves came to shore
The foghorn cried out in alarm a deep rusty bellowing tone
Ice rimed the weathered rock past where the white caps pour

Winter cold and dim the lobster shack closed for the season
Bells on the buoy not quite frozen added to the woeful din
Winter cold icy damp and frozen is a good enough reason
Though I believe that closing the lobster shack is a sin

So apropos that Winter and a wintry ocean scene shall meet as one. I love it!! The lobster reference has me wanting to go to Maine. Seriously though another great write from a near and dear poet. Ginga

well-written! I love your choices of words, simple, funny and full of joy. Readers are interested to visit there in this winter if they read this great poem in time.

Amazing sometimes, how such a simple palate of words will conjure up such fascinating images to swim in the mind stew... Perhaps, I've seen too many movies... Maybe it was the Perfect Storm panorama of New England... You made this way too easy Frost and I hate you for being this good at it, whilst I set around with guitar in lap, slaving over mere song lyrics... Could it be, this poet's pen is not so unlike the machine that captures motion...??? Enjoyed this read Frost....I was there the whole way...

Well you'll just have to go to Cape Elizabeth and find out for your self

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
