    • I once knew everything, and now I know nothing.

    Carnival v.2

The carnival city by a toxic ocean
where only the cold hearted survive
    building brightly painted stages
filled with the dramas of those who have been forgotten

Those who have forgotten how to love without guarding their hearts.
Forgotten the way true warmth feels

Candies fill their souls devouring the emptiness of broken hearts

    They are no longer alone,
    surrounded,
by lights and music and other almost dead slack jawed opium eyed inhabitants of an old city that eats the youth from their faces

Elixers made from chemicals meant to kill, free them
Leaving reality spirals down, lost in this world of magic

No longer sick, cold, lonely, scarred, needing wanting, feeling only the ups and downs of chemical romance

I run into the icy sea, even here chemicals burn me
there is no where real left...
I fall to my knees choking, sputtering, coughing, liquid fire in my throat
in my nose but no numbness follows
    Only cascading darkness
    And then....
    nothing

Floating here above the city of candy colored lights and sugar friends with scarred bodies,
    veins,
    hearts
Higher than I have ever been not numb but feeling.
The heat of the cities underworld
grinding pulsating bodies radiate the heat of life love that can't be found within the city walls

And then lights, and again I am on a moonlit beach my hair bleached by too many sleepless nights on the sand

The beach is the only place I can find to breathe
I can no longer go into the water it is slick with the oil of too many mechanical monsters
But here where there is no solid land
    and everything will eventually perish
I feel the warmth of the moon hiding my impurities

No longer are my arms bruised and my nose bleeding
The water that once filled my lungs purified my soul
my blood and I no longer need the sword
    only the moon
    the sand
    and the toxic water
That once was green and blue like the eyes of the boy that drove me to this carnal city by the toxic sea

    Great write, very enjoyable

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
