Crumbling Fantasy

Crumbling Fantasy

Once upon a time
you belonged to me
We were perfect for each other
i thought it was destiny
The fortune teller said
i would love you all my life
But she forgot to say
about the never ending strife
Our perfect little fantasy
started to crumble all around
When reality finally hit
it didn't even make a sound
We started picking at each other
about every little flaw
It got so bad between us
that we didn't even call
When we broke it off
you moved on so fast
You were with another girl
while i was still clinging to the past
I cried myself to sleep at night
thinking about those days
When i would start to talk to you
and you knew exactly what i'd say
But those are only memories
of what used to be
Because i'm moving on
and that was just a fantasy
I thought that lady was a fake
because i never thought she knew
That even to this day
i still do love you

THOUGH WITH A SAD AIR AROUND IT, THIS TENDER WORK OF YOURS IS MARVELOUS; I LOVE IT!!!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
