• Lost Love

It’s so hard to accept, it doesn’t want to sink in.

Me without your love, it feels just like a sin.

It’s not the way I want it; it’s not how it should be.

My heart keeps breaking daily, yet, I can’t let you see.

How I long for your voice so close to my ear.

The feeling with you that I have nothing to fear.

The warmth of your hug, the depth of your kiss,

And a million other things that I sincerely miss.

Like, the look in your eyes when we are nose to nose.

You’d think my love would start to wane, in fact it only grows.

I thought what we had was real, I felt that it was true.

It’s a loss that runs so deep, I don’t know what to do.

Poetry is finer and more philosophical than history; for poetry expresses the universal, and history only the particular.
