Dance of the Seasons

Poem Commentary

Read a book where there was a dance of seasons that took place before winter and summer and the season elementals were real, and it got me thinking.

Dance of the Seasons

Lady Summer and
Winter prince,
dancing together
ever since,
The dawn of time
of seasons too,
of lazy heat
and weather cool.

Seasons change places
in time with them,
to and fro
and back again,
She blond and bright
with smile warm,
he with hair of white
and a ruling arm.

And so its been
and so shall stay
to balance
freezing nights and sunny days.
For if this dance
should suffer plight
we would be plunged
into eternal night.

Fantasic, the way you wrote it is just pure great. I can not discribe how good it is.

This is a very cool concept, shadow... personification of two opposite seasons as dancing lovers is just brilliant... well done!

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
