Dancing Gypsy

Poem Commentary

This was originally titled differently, but somehow the system would not let me edit, so I had to delete and re-post it. I am sorry to have lost all of the kind reviews, but the title was just not right and needed to be changed. Thanks for reading!

Dancing Gypsy

wrapped in flowing scarves
made of wispy gray smoke
my muse dances seductively
willing my pen
to accomplish the same
she beckons me to the page
twirls amongst the flames
fluid and sinuous
exotic and enchanting
ah!  the familiar dance
every time fresh and new
statuesque and bold
she embodies hope and
imagination
encourages the creative flow
my muse, my compass
for I would be lost
without her

Thank you so much! I was trying to capture how I've always seen her in my mind's eye. :)

The muse really IS like a dancing gypsy, and just as precocious. Very good. A fav and a 10 from me.

Yep... still awesome the second time around :) Funny, because I thought to myself, when I saw the title... "wow, she's really into the gypsy thing"... haha! Nicely penned :)

Lol! Yeah, sorry about that. I wanted o give the haiku title to this one and change the other one, but for some reason the system wouldn't let me just edit both. I ended up having to edit one title and then delete and re-post the entire other poem with the new title. I'm just bummed that it lost all of the kind comments that were left on it originally. I suppose it was worth it, though, because the whole 'wrong title' thing was making me crazy! :p

Thank you for the kind words and the awesome rating!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
