Daughter Dear

Daughter Dear

Skin as soft as butterfly wings

Tiny seed pearl teeth fixed in a mischievous grin

Delicate ears like shells

Soft flowing hair, clover honey in color

Until the sunlight catches those natural golden highlights

Expressive eyes, so full of

Wonder, imagination, curiosity

Fringed with thick dark lashes too numerous to count

Though I’ve made many attempts

The hidden dimple on your right cheek

That only shows itself when you are truly delighted

You alone fill my world

With endless hope and boundless love

Tribute! Exactly! That was the word I was trying to bring to mind without ever using it. Thanks for the kind words!

This poem is anmatedly warm. A perfect portrait of maternal love an adoration.. A cine or video close-up strip of delight . Faultless versification and diction. Pride and exuberance of spirit controlled with propriwty, Not too much volubility (Just the correct amount) nor excessive adulation. My rating for exquisitivwnwss, ssymmetry and charming clarity is a full 10.

This is a touching and gentle tribute to the light of a mother's heart, her daughter. Simply beautiful and loving through and through...

Ah, yes, I tell her often that she is so easy to love... :)

Poetry is what gets lost in translation.
