    Democracy's Dead (song)

    The rich get richer
    The poor die young
    The politics are killing me
    The average man gets falsely hung

    Sex, drugs, rock-n-roll
    Make love not pointless war
    Billions dying here anyhow
    Afghanistan can't hold us anymore
    Will work for food
    Will die for fuel
    God is irrelevant
    Who cares for school?
    Pension pays and vacation funds
    Homeless warriors and kids with guns

    DC's dumb, America's dead
    Worked to death, thank the feds
    Loved to live life care free
    Taxes and hate prohibit me
    From hating for their skin
    To hating love in name of religion
    Your way's not the only way to be
    Living like that's not the land of the free

    We fight for justice
    They fight for greed
    We hope for peace
    They hope we can't read
    High on drugs hooked on dope
    Hey life's hell but they can cope
    Government's on a slippery track
    They're gonna abandon and never look back

     

    Live beyond our means
    Die trying to survive
    President's blind to pain
    Why bother to strive
    Why bother to hope
    Why care to care
    When the boss just kills
    The American dream's bare
    Red tape, lies, and hate
    Free speech is a FAKE!
    Democracy is torn
    Spirit's been over worn

    Oil's life
    Love has no meaning
    Fame's everything,
    Compassion's demeaning
    Washington's broke
    But who's at fault
    The 40 hour week
    Or the men that cried "hault"
    Hault on our taxes
    Hault on your pay
    Hault to my responsibilities
    And you don't get a say

    DC's dumb, America's dead
    Worked to death, thank the feds
    Loved to live life care free
    Taxes and hate prohibit me
    From hating for their skin
    To hating love in name of religion
    Your way's not the only way to be
    Living like that's not the land of the free

    Taxes rise 8 dollars a day
    Gas goes up in an exponential way
    NASA's stuck education's broke
    Fame is fleeting kids turn to coke
    Drugs and sex on the rise
    Authorities still put their nose to the skies
    Ignoring things wont make 'em go away
    Look at our budget thinner each day
    Life in the fast lane
    Life on the rocks
    Life via smart phone
    Life tied under locks
    Cash in the register
    Boy it's low
    Taxes on the rise
    No where to go
    Used to make gas just for us
    We used to make all our cars
    Used to supply a nation
    Now we're a nation behind bars

    Freedom of speech
    Freedom of religion
    Freedom signed away
    By the stroke of a pen
    Another soul lost forever to drugs
    Another child beat by his parent not thugs
    Police don't see a thing
    Another angel with a broken wing

    DC's dumb, America's dead
    Worked to death, thank the feds
    Loved to live life care free

    "We fight for justice They fight for greed We hope for peace They hope we can't read" This is very true. I like what you had to say. I was just discussing the issue of cursive handwriting, as the school system doesn't acknowledge or teach it anymore. I wonder how the next generation is going to sign their own names or read the Declaration of Independence. I know I'm going to supplement my children's education as the Public School System has gone to Hell on a runaway train. Nice piece.
