Poem Commentary

For children who loved and were discarded...

DISCARDED

Always something different

Usually without thought

Sometimes between often and soon

Our love he slowly bought

Along the way we drifted

Under pretenses mostly false

Above believing differently

Blind to future loss

Before the eye could blink

After taking all our hearts

Upon his time of finding new

Left us with broken parts

Never thinking of his wreckage

Almost damaged beyond repair

Always wary now of anyone

Showing any sign of care

Under a cloak of indifference

Beyond the scope of most

Over all the years of life

Love remained a ghost

You are very talented. I love the way you put your words together. The flow and rhythm was on point. Good job........E

I appreciate your comments, thanks!

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
