    DRACULA BLACK

     These distant images  preventing sleep, invade my waking dreams.
    One hundred ghosts fill my tortured mind, years of endless war
    I, the irredeemable, fell those many lives, each one hardening my heart
    They, the nameless, rendering my soul Dracula black.

    What redemption shall bring a clearing light, forgiveness might
    Who do you turn to, failing memories only prevail each night
    Every morn your eyes peer out, to afraid or fearful to peer in
    The void there behind each orb remains light less, forever Dracula black.

    Upon weakened knees, you fall, tortured prayers pass trembling lips
    I, the irredeemable, beg for comfort or a welcome death, find no solace
    Nothing sought, nothing found, nothing knows what nothing needs
    Perhaps this fate consumed what soul I had, where now nothing is Dracula black.

    Dracula black is my mind, each thought or action is of the seething kind
    Dracula black is my soul, no heart for sympathy or mercy shown
    Dracula black has cursed this life, if alive I am, for death eludes it's own kind.
    Al I see is Dracula black, an uncaring, unfeeling existence, wishing I could take it all back....................................

    Did you really get this one, it was a phrase Mickey Rouark said in the Expendables. His soul was so Dracula Black I stopped the movie and the above was what emerged and fell on the page........
