    Drawn Hearts

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Tijaya drew me a heart,
it was loving, endearing and hollow
I smiled back earnestly with gratitude-
    thinking,
why do we draw them so
    symetrically opposite to ours
    -which are closed.

Full of pumps, valves and veins
    nothing resembling tracings,
    of two candy canes.

Ti then held the two canes up high and said
    seasons greetings,
    they're a season of giving
inwhich my thoughts were drawn upon these two forms,
which represents the one's we have living.

    Art is a reflection,
    of anything below and above
    art, much like hearts...

    stay open to receive love.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
