    Poem Commentary

    i was feeling lonely when i wrote this....i don't know how i came up with it. seems like more depression...i was really depressed while i was at job corps....

    Empty

     there is an empty
    space in the pit
    of my mind
    it's as if i dug down
    to find something more
    then lust
    in that place
    finding the hollow tree
    in the bottom
    of my soul
    it doesn't seem to end
    but as my pen falls
    it hits a bottom
    some where down there
    a voice calls out
    to me
    begging to be freed
    i jump in
    falling
    hitting the bottom
    hard
    i see love here
    my arms thrown around it
    the emptiness fades
    we now stand
    by the hollow tree
    for the emptiness
    will never
    truly be gone

    I've known feelings of emptiness very well and it can creep up on you unexpectedly. Great poem, as always, M'Lady.
