    ENTOMBED

    I'm constantly running away from myself;
    from memories that have left
    unbearable welts.
    Dare I explore the caverns of my mind,
    I fear the horrible
    things I may find.
    I've blocked all doors to future use
    to eliminate
    self-inflicted abuse.
    I can never go back those ugly places;
    To stare again
    into hurtful faces.
    Time, it's said,  will heal my wounds,
    the the memories, forever,
    will be entombed.

    Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.
