    False Profit

    Your little revelation has
    revealed to me
    Everything you wish you were.
    Have your conversations
    left us deceived?
If so, why do you concur?

    Why do you believe...
    In the world outside?
    In a sun that shines?
    Especially on your little town?
    Should I receive...
    your hypocrisy
and just let it take me down?

    Your slow movement
    Is showing me
    how quick things really are.
    Your dreams of clay
Keep you confound inside your little jar.

You define the role of the sloth
Put your hopes and dreams in a basket
Pray for some way to set you off
    In your alabaster casket
Knowing that I won't be there
    When you end up nowhere

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
