Flesh and Bone

Flesh and Bone

A knife sinks into my mind,

Every now and then,

And out pours blood flowing invisibly,

Takes away the life that was given to me.

You can’t see it,

You can’t know the pain,

Arrives unexpectantly,

Like the thief in the night.

It leaves a scar so deep,

And a mountain to climb, so high,

The good times lose their sentimental value,

And the bad times wreck havoc through my thoughts.

Wounds of flesh and bone are so easy to mend,

People pretend this would be as easy,

But they can’t see what’s going on,

I need a bandage invisibly bound to my mind.
