For My Mother, On Her Special Day

    With each passing year,
    Mother's Day accuires
    a new meaning and sentiment
    for me.
As a baby, I'm sure that
I gave you many cards and gifts
that I was never even aware of.
    Dad made sure of that!
    As a child, going shopping
for a surprise to give you on your special day
was an exciting, grown-up thing to do.
As a teen, I was so caught up
    in the confusion and doubt
that go along with that delicate stage of life,
or all of the things that you did for me.
    Today, as a responsible adult
who makes some what good choices,
    maintains a job and home,
    and cares for others
the way that you once cared for me,
this day has become a rememberance
and guidance you gave to me
i every area of my life.

    Through my own growth,
I have grown to love you even more!!!
