    For Our Troops

Busy with the fourth’s frolic and fun

Life and freedom could have been stolen

Some troops ne’er again to see our sun.

A moment of quiet for our fallen.

They have given up all their dreams.

To slow down our world's hate and violence.

We take it for granted as it seems.

Let’s all take this time to be silent.

A great tribute to those who fight for our freedom every single day and to those who have paid the ultimate price to protect it. May God keep them safe and protect them all from the earthly evils they are subjected to.

A wonderfully sweet and heartfelt tribute to our troops. Very elequently written. I like the attached picture as well. It amazes how many young men have given their lives for this country since 9/11. I fully appreciate the sacrifices that have been made but often fear that they have been made in vain. We've almost lost a generation these past 8 years. It's very sad to me. I have a 15 year-old who was just 7 when this war began. I hope it ends soon. Great write... K

Very well put and true, we need to take time to remember the fallen soldiers of this and every awful war, especially since our freedom was bought by the blood of the best.

Lovely and very patriotic. Should forth in the first line actually be Fourth. Wonderful reminder of those we too often take for granted.
