What Tomorrow Brings

You never know what tomorrow will bring
Life can change at the blink of an eye
Follow the magic in your heart
Be honest, and tell no lies

Live one day at a time
And deal with life's ups and downs
Try keep a smile on your face
Nothing gets better wearing a frown

Live for the moments you can't put into words
Those are the truths from your soul
Love is what makes life worthwhile
And togetherness is what makes your life whole

I Dreamed You

I dreamed of you last night
and Oh what a romantic sight
champagne and dozens of red roses
you and I at our very closest.

I dreamed of your kiss
what magical, mystical bliss
our lips interlocked forever it seemed
to bad it was only a wishful dream.

I dreamed, yes I dreamed of you once more
you crept in through moonbeams door
the sweetest dream I've ever knew
was this wonderful dream of me and you.

BE Careful

The prick of the thorn drew neigh a drop of blood
just an after thought that with beauty comes pain in a flood
quick and unexpected but there none the less
be ye careful who you give your heart lest it come back a mess.

Love In My Heart

Love is in my heart for one man
I am a woman who has it good
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for him
Like a good woman should

But he's not selfish, and stuck on himself
He does great things for me
Not every woman has a good man
I'm about as lucky as lucky can be

He brings me coffee in the morning
He lights my cigarette
In all the years that we've been together
I've never seen him forget

Now he doesn't do this because he is asked
It's something he started on his own
If the law would allow me to do so
I would make all you women a clone

America's Women

America's women do many things
We try to raise our children right
We school some of them at home, and
when their sick we stay up with them all night

We take them to school and pick them up
We clean the house and make the meals
And when the children want to start to date
We are the ones who with their fathers make the deals

Some grow up and go to war
They fight beside our men
They dig their trenches just like the guys
I'm proud of our American women

I have seen them doing construction
And some are doctors and nurses
Some just go shopping alot
and spend their husbands purses

But all in all we do what we can
to help contribute to the household
And we stick by our man through thick and thin
So that together we can grow old

I'm proud to be an American woman
It's a title I wear with pride
And I've never met a stronger group of women
Strong enough to stand by their countries side

Drink Of The Soul

Drink of the soul

Drink of the soul
and you will come to know
secrets that go untold
when this woman unfolds.

Drink deeply of the soul
where God's roses deeply grow
there for mans tender life
given freely by his souls wife.

Come drink of my soul
it taste of honeyed gold
only then will you truly know
the me I try not to show.

"The Awakening"

I woke up this morning from a dream ..
Still shaken, from the sights.
A heavenly figure loomed over me ...
Who made me recall my life.

I felt the sting of days that passed ...
The watering in my eyes.
As he made me see what I had done ...
Was not what I realized.

He made me look at the pain I caused ..
To all those of whom I love.
Broken promises and shattered dreams ...
Is what my life was made of.

I felt the tears running down my face ...
My heart beat erratically danced.
I then promised him that I would change ...
If given a second chance.

I vow to those who I have dismayed ...
To make up for what I've done.
By holding you close within my heart ...
I promise to treasure your love.

The tears that I cry - I cry for you ...
Hoping one day you'll soon forget.
And forgive me for the hurt I've caused ...
I'm sorry and I regret.

The heavenly figure then smiled at me ...
Said, "Son, I have faith in you.
The life that you lead is yours to decide ...
But, we must one day face the truth."
~ ~ ~ ~
"So live each day like it is your last ...
And you'll always rise above.
Never question the teachings of the heart ...
Because, the answer is always Love"

Both, a loving Tribute to your man and Humorous! A nice mix!
I am posting one here that combines romance with a hint of humor as well.
Thanks for sharing, Ken

Re: Poetry Sharing

"Haven't We Met Before?"

Haven't we met before?
No, it's not a pick-up line.
I swear I've seen you somewhere,
Maybe it was in a past-life?

Haven't we met before?
Was it down by Central Park?
Yes, I think it was, or maybe ..
It wasn't - It was kind of dark.

Haven't we met before?
Maybe somewhere near the stream?
Rehashing long lost memories ..
While we revisited our dreams?

Haven't we met before?
Two hearts longing to be one.
Along life's lonely broken path
Under the summer's lonely sun?

Haven't we met before?
Two souls dancing by the door,
No?, Maybe we're just mere strangers?
Are you sure we haven't met before?

So ..... Can I buy you a drink?

This is a very nice poem Dianna and SO TRUE. If we could all just learn to live life like this, the world would be a much better place! cool smile

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
