If you want to be a Writer

If you want to be a Writer

If you want to be a writer then,
You should write as if your stories or poems or
play or novels
Will be put in a locker,
And the locker will be put in an attic.
And maybe your grandchildren or great
grandchildren
Will find your old trunk,
And take all your stuff that you wrote down
To some publishing house;
And then maybe you might be become famous
and dead
All at the same time.

Re: If you want to be a Writer

If you want to be a writer you must give away your writing just to get known and promote yourself as much as you can by letting the public know you're here to tell them a story for free. I placed some of my published works in a plastic ziploc bag at the top of a tower referred to as The Poet's Seat, in Greenfield, MA, where tourists go to look out over the mountains and towns. I addressed the works to whomever should find these books, to enjoy them. Crazy simple things like these, get your stuff known. Also slip a poem or article into a waiting area's reading material so someone can read it while hanging around. Offer your works to the public library. I have done these things. That's because I want to be a writer.

you are a writer..and a good one...that's for certain...
great ideas too..........

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.
