Big Foot Discovered

Big Foot Discovered

Big Foot has been discovered:

he is you,
and your neighbor;
your coworker, boss,
best friend and the check-out person at the supermarket.
We are all Big Foot: you and me, brothers and sisters.
We are all carbon-burning units and
leave a giant carbon footprint everyday just like we are at the beach
walking in the sand. But the incoming tide won't wash away our
carbon footprints; they last forever.
Do you keep your house too toasty or conveniently cool?
You are a Big Foot?
Do you drive gas guzzler?
You are a Big Foot?
Do you not recycle your trash, waste precious water, and keep your
car engine running just to keep warm?
Do you waste precious fuel and resources?
Look in the mirror tonight at the scary monsters we have all become.
The carbon-emitting, global-warming Big Foot monsters exist inside
of each and every one of us.
The Earth is terrified.

To have great poets there must be great audiences too.

Walt Whitman, American Poet (1819-1892)
