UPA Open Site Challenge Invitational

Ok that last challenge was good and got a great deal of great poems work out of it. This one will be a real hoot. The poem has to deal with a song of the poets choice. You need to write a poem about a certain song and what that message means to you. Anything goes so feel free to be as crazy or as nice or demented as you wish. Again all new posts will be rated and commented on by UPA members and if we all feel that you have done your best then you will receive the agreement to join UPA. Good Luck and have fun. Plot121 AKA Robert... cool smile

If ypu have any questions about the type of work we welcome please goto this link

Re: UPA Open Site Challenge Invitational

Okie dokie, Plot, I wrote a poem for this. I hope I did pretty good, considering this is the first time I've written a poem like this.

LINK:
Life Is Beautiful

"You can't quite until you try"
Give it a shot and you might find
Nothing out there is impossible
Need to find out if I'm capable
To be yourself you must learn to cry
"You can't learn to tell the truth, until you learn to lie"

"Can't breathe until you choke"
Can't you see that you're the joke?
Trying so hard to find the truth
Dismissing theories for lack of proof
But the only facts are you live then die
"There's nothing like a funeral, to make you feel alive"

"Just open your eyes, just open your eyes"
Look out to the world, feel no surprise
When you find that "life is beautiful"
Give it a try, feel with your soul
And when you arrive, make your life full
"No will cry, at my funeral"

We've all done things that we regret
We all know things we wish to forget
The words we say we can't take back
There is not mistakes that we lack
We're are all wounded from being alone
"There's nothing like a trail of blood, to find your way back home"

"I was waiting for my hurt
What came next was so much worse"
It can hurt so bad that we forget
So much good hasn't come yet
I felt so close that I had to die
"It took a funeral too make me feel alive"

"Just open your eyes, just open your eyes"
Look out to the world, feel no surprise
When you find that "life is beautiful"
Give it a try, feel with your soul
And when you arrive, make your life full
"No will cry, at my funeral"

"Alive, just open your eyes"
And look to the skies
"And see the life is beautiful"
And tell me no lies
"That no one will cry
At my funeral"

In science one tries to tell people, in such a way as to be understood by everyone, something that no one ever knew before. But in poetry, it's the exact opposite.
