Night Has Fallen

Night Has Fallen

I just sit here staring
off into somewhere-
where I dont know

I feel frozen inside,so cold
fighting the tears that rim my eyes and
sting my soul

Ah it was-all against the rules
so now I pay a price
I suppose heartache and saddness is just?
it must
cause thats what I feel
and I dont know what it will take
for this kind of pain to heal
At least for me in my lifetime

When did loving someone
become so bad?
isnt there enough
hate in this
world
to be had?

I just wanted to give my heart to you
and all "we" were missing in our lives too
You made it safe for me to do so
You've always made me feel safe
A warm soft place to fall, you were
and i wanted to be that place for you as well
Afraid now to turn around
in fear of seeing the hard ground
my only place to fall now

I'm so cold, from head to toe
nothing seems to warm me
The night has fallen
I see darkness out this window
I staren out of
Like the darkness thats
between us now

How much more can i possibly cry
I just want to get through tonight
tomorrows just another day
I'll fight
to understand
why Im losing my best friend/
this just cant be
why can't I make this right

Flashes of you
crash against my brain
and I have no control
it never seems to stop

but i need a break
my mind and heart need
some rest

Its morning
and it all starts again!

Re: Night Has Fallen

Oreo,

I wish there is a pill to ease the heart's pain but there isn't. I think the best medicine is to write like you do, and by doing so you are helping all those souls that feels the same way express in your poem. It's also good to understand people's feelings

Re: Night Has Fallen

Thank you for your thoughtful words and it does help-also knowing others feel what u do or at least have felt and that people understand..Thank you for taking the time to post something to me...Debbie

Poetry is not the expression of personality but an escape from personality.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
