SENSES

Senses
Our eyes let us see the beauty of all the things we love
Such as everything around us and the beautiful setting sun
Our ears will hear the whisper of the breezes through the trees
The sound of a new born baby as she’s placed upon your knee
Our nose can smell the scent of the people we hold near
Smell also lets us realise the dangers and our fears
Our mouth is such a wondrous thing to let our feelings out
To kiss to talk to taste to laugh and most of all to shout
Our hands are very versatile in everything they do
They touch and feel and comfort us and say that I love you
So use your senses freely and show how you can share
Give comfort to those less fortunate and show them that you care

Re: SENSES

Astonishingly beautiful! My sixth sense told me you're a kind person.

Re: SENSES

Beautiful-and so true!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
