Work face

Work face

Don't feel like working
But
Can't escape
Because
Everybody else
Has on
A work face
Dads
Moms
Kids
Shop keepers
Got to go to
a place
Where
I won't see
A work face

Work face

Thanks-
I was at a wedding last night -
I was drinking coke -
A person I know - had been drinking heavily -
I was in a good mood and smiling - dancing enjoying the food etc - music - people .
He said look at that smile - what are you smiling what are you so happy .

Despite all the alchohol he had poured into his system he was still miserable -

I said " What is the alturnative to me not being happy - or at least acting happy "

I don't think he had any idea what I was trying to convey .

Re: Work face

I liked this. It seems we will all wear a specific face for a specific task. The happy face will work to cheer me up when I am a bit blue - I can trick myself into it and it does work - after all - like you said - what is the alternative.

I think you make a good point.

Your poem says - hey stay away from that work face - just want another day off so if I go where there are no work faces, maybe I can "fit in". Clever but I doubt the boss will buy that one. *smile* - at lest not at my job.

You have made good use of brevity to work this poem. A pleasure. ~Pamela grin

Work face

you make a better point - just smile ---
if i smile that will make the work faces - to me - go away -
change our view of reality- and we change reality -
good - thanks

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.
