Island of the night

Hearts break
without a sound
tears fall
with the silence
of the night
empty hands
reach for naught
and flesh turns cold
from the loneliness
left in your wake.
Looking back
how foolish I became
self inflicted
the blindness
consumed all thought
perverted truths
and led me here
to this island
of the night
where emotional beatings
are self inflicted
and I willingly stay
until healed
until willing
to love again.

Critique this please, Im at a loss as to why my writings aren' moving people. I know I seldom punctuate, 'cuz I break on words.

Re: Island of the night

I really wouls like some feedback, PLEASE!!!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
