THE POETRY OF STARDRIFT

This poem is an excellent piece of "pathetic fallacy," wherein the poet gives a human mind to an insect, and then makes an incursion into that mind to sustain the theme of self-preservation and caution, as well as his feelings for, and your keen and sensitive observation of the things and the creatures of Nature, Stardrift ,, you display , as in your other creationsm that you are a perfectionist in your mastery of the iambic pentameter and your impeccable rhyming scheme. My rating for this very sensitive and immaculately crafted piece is 10+

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
