Tell Me, Muse
|
Tell Me, Muse
Tell Me, Muse
Would you favor, The Fool folly,
Signifies a sign of wisdom
Or
Would you rather prefer, Prometheus,
Returning with the stolen fire
Tell Me, Muse
Which man would you take?
The Fool offers peace
Prometheus offers the warmth of the fire
Which person would you hire?
Tell Me, Muse
What offering should I choose?
Wisdom or fire
A magician or a Muse
Which man, shall I desire?

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.
Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
