My Homeless Missing Child

One day as I was playing, for fear I did not care
I listened to a stranger, now I'm here but I don't know where
Momma, are you wondering? Momma, are you there?
Momma I hear you crying, I'm here but I don't know where
Are you lonely too, dear Momma? Do you hurt down deep inside?
Since that lovely afternoon, I sense your heart has died
But hurt no more dear Momma, for it has been quite a while
You'll love again, but don't forget...your homeless, missing child.confused

If I feel physically as if the top of my head were taken off, I know that is poetry.

Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) American poet.
