    Friends

Poetry friends come in many flavors

A few are tried and true

Others defy the meaning of the term

    Leaving one without a clue

They seek your friendship and then disappear

    Only to reappear anew

When they post a new poem

    And seek your support

    For comments they must accrue

But alas when your new poem is posted

They are nowhere to be seen

You must seek them out and request a comment

    A sometimes tiresome routine

But who am I to wail and whine

    About actions of accepted Friends

I guess I misinterpret the term

Or maybe this is where the friendship ends

This is humorously tried and true. Tooooooooo many poems and poets, I can't keep up. I try to but 24/7 on the computer isn't my style. Still love this site and have made a few tried and true friends, as well, as good poets. I put you in this category. Sally

Very pronounced imagery here - I distinctly heard a howling beagle throughout this, lol! This cracks me up, Hamps!! I guess someone would write this poem sooner or later, lol! As some have already mentioned, part of it is poor site design, and, some people are busier than others - there's rarely offense meant. You're a superb poet, however, I've noticed that you don't seem to get yourself out there. You're a sleeping gem if you only let everyone come to you. Btw, you cannot manage a hundred friends, impossible! Also, a cyber friendship just isn't the same as a drinking buddy, as you probably know. Just my thoughts, for what they're worth and however accurate they are. A parafriendly write!!

Hampton, If I am one of the guilty ones then I am truly sorry, I would rather have you as a friend than have you ever rate another of my poems because a contest is just a stupid contest but a friendship is so much more...thank you for this reminder and I'm very sorry if I've hurt your feelings...

I really like this poem. Once again, it's well written. It makes one think of the meaning of friendship, which is a very important issue that sometimes goes overlooked.

Thanks. Unfortunately,I a still seeking the meaning of friendship as it relates to Friends on this site.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

    Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
