FROM A PLACE OF DARKNESS AND DESPAIR

To write from a place of darkness and despair,

With the hope of producing a better space of working light;

Just something to encourage this stumbling, weary soul,

While it continues on it’s rocky, uneasy, redemption plight.

I have worked hard to achieve my own acceptable righteousness,

Only to discover over-and-over again that I have fallen short,

As I find myself face-to-face with the burdens of life’s unsettled requirements.

Satan has taken my soul and used it for his own personal entertainment, and sport.

I slowly move from darkness, then back to despair all in one night,

As my soul continues on it’s rocky, uneasy, redemption plight.

Consuming. Almost muddling the sight, leaving one to think its all there is. To the point we get use to it and we squint when light hits us. Good release man.

The endless paths of this world are numerous - it is impossible to be perfect, and often it is just as difficult to stay true to ourselves... The important part is to yearn to be as humanly good as we can and to learn along life's way! Your words are wise and very well written - thank you for sharing your talent and wisdom...

Wonderful piece Orson and so true for so many of us fall from grace. Still, we are forgiven and can always get bacl on that road to redemption for our sins have been paid for.

Thank you for continuing to be a faithful reader of my works. God Bless.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
