    Give me Summer!

I wish for the summer sun every day
the winter brings me to my knees
Just a few more months and I'll be able to play
Among the flowers and in the trees
I like the way the warmth tiptoes on my skin
as I step outside the shadows from someplace
I try to find my favorite season from within
It gets hard when snow is hitting my face
I'll wait five minutes, I'll wait forever
    until I can go outside
and be happy with the weather
    I'm going to be patient
    but it gets hard
when I need to get to work and my car won't start
    Oh, summer
    where are you?
    I love you, come back!
I want you, I need you!
    Like a crackhead needs crack..

The end is kind of terrible. Some of you may like it though. Who knows? It was an easy way out for me and I'm procrastinating on finals right now. Maybe I'll come up with a new ending later. I need to fix it. Can't really do a summer poem justice by comparing it to crack, but that's just my opinion.

hey actually i like this as is. it is a playful poem that dreams about summer while miserably trapped in winter and the last few lines make you feel the angst of winter. excellent poem (as is)

I can see children, noses stuck to window panes. Very fresh and you painted a longing held in every hand. That is what being a poet is all about.I can't wait.
