    Glimpse of Frustration

    “Hypocrite!” I scream silently.

I smother the voices in my head

    With a decorative pillow,

All lace and ribbons and frills.

I feel so alone, so broken.

And I am out of duct tape.

    Everyone is broken today.

    Some just wear it well.

great. love the analogy of the decorative pillow, another way of describing the mask we all wear to disguise our true identies. but alas, eventually our true selves eventually show through, when we run out of duct tape.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
