    I fully agree with this thought, and yet I kept waiting for one more couplet iike a Burma Shave sign sequence along Route 66.

    I don't think that the periods are entirely necessary (although I understand your basic dilemma: you needed pauses, and those were the most logical), but ultimately, that was a great poem. I'm very glad you posted! Thanks for sharing! :)
