    ..Gossamer Heart..
    (Gossamer Heart)

    The wind howls violently beyond my opaque asylum
    Animating erroneous obsessions
    Encouraging doubt to weigh heavy along its path
    And I, through black rose lips, curse the incursion

    I sit here perched upon diaphanous throne
    Shoulders hunched and head hung low
    Dark curtains of feathered silk cloud my sight
    As untouchable ghosts invade my thoughts

    Peeking through the prosaic strands
    Imperceptible light pierces the nocturnal sky
    Phantasmal shadows leave mesmerized blurs
    And I hold tight, my gossamer heart

    Blitzed by these nights of pain
    Shadows of abyss set flame
    I cannot speak..
    I choke on shame..
    When the wind gods howl i here my name

    The darkness of a fragile heart
    Slowly being torn apart
    The pieces break and melt away
    A love lost..In a heart's decay..

    Cobwebs cover my broken soul..
    My faith is lost..In a story untold..
    The future?...Will we ever know?

    And as I sit here
    Peeking out the window
    Into the cold and dreary night

    I glanced upon a shattered mirror
    Where reflection bears no soul
    I reached for tainted pen
    And colored the page in shades of grey

    And as I neared the end
    Broken and decayed
    I wondered if you would be
    The guardian of my gossamer heart.

    I really loved this poem, it's dark heartbreak a palpable presence as I read. The rhythm gets a little off in the last few stanzas, but overall this is a really nice piece.

    The images are really taking off. Nice improvement in the writing. Just watch out for to many (of) the (of) metaphors they can become real weak in structure. It's best to write around them if you can do it. One way is to make a possessive of the images instead of using the (of). Just a thought to pass on for your next poem

    This piece has BeautifulDeath's artisan trademark voicing all over it: her phrasing, grammar, flawless spelling, her arrangement, syntax, flow, and creative creepiness. She is the God(dess) Of Darkness on this site. All other darkness pales to her masterful writing.
